Using Image Format Converter
I built this converter for the moments when a PNG is too heavy for a blog post, or a client asks for WebP versions of every asset. Pick an image, choose the output format, tune the quality, and download the result. Your file never leaves the tab — the conversion happens on a canvas right in your browser.
How to use it
- 1
Choose your image
Select any PNG, JPEG, WebP, or other common image from your device. You'll see a thumbnail preview plus the original format, dimensions, and file size.
- 2
Pick a format and quality
Choose PNG for lossless quality with transparency, JPEG for photos with wide compatibility, or WebP for the smallest web-ready files. The quality slider (1–100) applies to JPEG and WebP; PNG is always lossless so it skips the slider.
- 3
Convert and download
Hit Convert and compare the original against the result side by side — format, dimensions, and file size. When you're happy, download the converted file with one click.
Why use this privately?
Most online converters make you upload the image first, which means a copy of your photo sits on someone else's server — along with whatever metadata was inside it. That always bothered me, especially for client work or personal photos. This tool draws your image to a canvas and re-encodes it locally, so the bytes never travel anywhere. There's no queue, no account, and nothing retained after you close the tab. I also made the size comparison front and center, because the whole point of converting is usually a smaller file — you should see exactly what you gained before you download.
Who is this for?
Built for bloggers, designers, developers, and marketplace sellers who need web-ready image formats without uploading their files to a stranger's server.
